MAINE COAST VACATION WITH A PET. HELP!
 

We have been vacationing in Maine for many years.
Recently we became the proud owners of a stray dog
that we love dearly. Does anyone know of a motel or
cottage rental that allows pets? Thanks for helping

I've been to Maine several times with my dog. Lovely stay last year at the High Tide Inn in Camden, where there's even a beach in which your dog can swim. We also stayed at the Ocean Drive Motor Court in Bar Harbor, but that was a last-minute booking and the amenities were a little scarce -- *we* loved it, but it depends on what you want from a vacation. Ditto for the White Anchor Motel in Boothbay Harobr -- small rooms, sort of roadside motelly, but they're very dog-friendly. Have a great time -- and if you find a good pet-friendly place, please share on the message boards!

The Inn by the Sea in Cape Elizabeth (just south of Portland) makes a big deal about being pet friendly - it's a gorgeous place with access to a wonderful beach.
