Maine Beach Weekend
 
I am planning a 3-5 day trip to Maine in July or August with my wife. We would like to spend the majority of the trip on the beach, relaxing. Any suggestions of resorts, B&B, hotels etc that offer peaceful, private (if possible) beachfront locals?

If you want private, then look for a vacation rental, mid to north coast. Try Cyberentals.com

The Inn by the Sea in Cape Elizabeth is very nice.

Enjoy the beach. But, the water is icy. You'll be lucky if it goes above 60 degrees.
