maine accommodations question

i am driving from canada down to boston and am looking for a budget place to stay for just one night. just need a clean, quiet motel that is in a relatively safe neighborhood. i am considering:
travellers inn - brunswick - around $65
econolodge - freeport - around $60
any opinions? thanks.

If you are willing to use Priceline, you can get the Sheraton South Portland for about $55-60 in the summer. I've stayed there on two occasions (using Priceline), and it was well worth the price. It's right off the highway, and has restaurants and a mall next door.

The Brunswick, Freeport areas are very safe. Traveller's inn is older sort of motor inn, I think the econolodge is relatively new as most of the places in Freeport. Freeport is fun because of the shopping and the summer atractions, and LLBEANS experiences. Beans has lots of novice trial experiences that even those of us who live here year round take advantage of.

Econo Lodge Freeport is quite nice, but I wouldn't imagine that it is $60 in the summertime. It's also very convenient to get back onto the freeway to Boston which is about a 2.5 hour drive. Waterville Econo Lodge is also quite nice and would leave you a 3.25 hour drive to Boston.
