It is okay. Interesting decor if you like Art Deco. However, it gets lost in the listing of other, more interesting hotels. I would recommend The Melrose. The Library Bar is very popular, and the Landmark restaurant is one of the city's little known gems.

I really liked the Magnolia. Very good service, and nice rooms. It is downtown, so parking can be expensive if you are driving. Several new restraunts are popular in that area, I recommend Jarabom if you get a chance.

I've walked by it (on Commerce St.). Seems nice enough. Personally if I was staying downtown I'd opt for the Adolphus Hotel. Or if you want to stay outside of downtown area, the the Melrose in Oak Lawn area is good. And not only does the Melrose have a good restaurant, but there also are several other eating options in walking distance (Nuevo Leon, for example). Oh, and another good hotel for being close to downtown, is the Stoneleigh Hotel.

Good website for info on Dallas area is:

http://www.dallasmetroplex.org/index2.html
Stayed at the Magnolia for one night last month. Was not very impressed with the room.
