Magic Kingdom or Epcot??

I will be in Orlando for one day post cruise with my fiance and his family. They have all been to Disney World but I've only been to Disneyland. We probably won't arrive in Orlando until around noon or 1 pm. What do you recommend - Magic Kindom or Epcot? BTW...we'll be there on July 4th.

Thanks for your help!

I recommend staying as far away as possible...lol.

Apparently you have no choice so..... If all adults go to Epcot. If you have children with you and want to experience the "Awe" then do Magic Kingdom.

Whatever you choose, go early.

As a lifelong Florida resident, unless you have kids, I would recommend EPCOT instead - Disney is more for kids, though some of the magic does rub off on us adults :) - but EPCOT would be more interesting to an adult I would think. Enjoy!

EPCOT, because MK is mostly repeated on both coasts, and you've seen MK in D'land.

EPCOT! It is fascinating, exceptionally well done and very interesting. It will a very busy time.

Epcot because on those insanely busy days like July 4 it has the most room to absorb enormous crowds - or so says the Unofficial Guide to WDW.

Epcot, for all the reasons mentioned above.

skip Disney and visit Universal or Busch instead!

Thanks for all of your suggestions! I think we are crazy to go during the 4th too but I guess that's what we will be - 5 crazy adults :) I am leaning towards Epcot too. Any good restaurant suggestions?

I'll have to go back in December when the crowd thins out. It'll be nice to get out of the cold wintry days here for some FL sun.

A little advice from a local:

Forgive me, but are you sure you want to go to Disney on July 4th? It will be hot, humid, and very, very crowded. If your answer is yes, and you don't have small children in your party, then go EARLY, and to go Epcot or Animal Kingdom rather than Magic Kingdom. As previous posters have noted, MK is very much like Disneyland which you've already seen. Also, Epcot is a much larger space than MK so crowding on busy days is less horrendous. Animal Kingdom is always less crowded than the other parks, so keep that in mind, too.

And remember, sunscreen and comfy shoes! Hope you have fun!

During Thanksgiving, we visited EPCOT. My wife and I decided we would start in "France" and have crepes for breakfast. We then worked our way "around the world" riding every ride that was open and ate something at every restaurant. Sushi in "Japan" for lunch. We carried nachos & margaritas while standing in line for the "spaceship" ride. Our final meal was dessert in "Italy". The killer was the sauerkraut and bratwurst just before dessert.

I used to be thin. That day changed my life.

Remember to save some space on your digital camera (or film) for the fireworks at closing time. The t.v. globe thing on the lake is out of this world!

Magic Kingdon is essentially for children (or any age). EPCOT is much more like a world's fair effort for adults - and about 10 times more interesting (unless you like riding arond in flying teacups).

Speaking of Epcot, anybody been on their new ride, Soarin'?
