Longview --nah(great place to eat called Bodacious BBQ, though...yummm)
Tyler has a zoo and Rose Gardens (very nicely taken care of)nice historical downtown and historic area with antellebum homes.
Bossier--big big on gambling. Shreveport is across the River and has a Rose Garden also. Libby glass factory.
Monroe? Isn't there a Mike Andersons that is a good place to eat?
I've been to Palestine..used to do alot of running before I had kids. A bunch of us met out there and ran 20 miles once. I tell you what is COOL if you have time : ). Driving up to Caddo Lake. Caddo is north of Marshall (old courthouse which is decorated at Xmas..Marshall also has Marshall pottery. THAT is worth stopping for). Caddo is swampy, cypress trees.Very Louisiana like, yet in TX. Jefferson is nearby..antique shops. Lots of Dallas-ites spend their weekends in Jefferson.

Hope that helps.
