Macadamian nuts

When my husband and I visited the Big Island a couple of years ago, we stopped south of Kona on highway 11 at a little coffee plantation. They had the best chocolate macadamian nuts I have ever had, but I can't remember the name of the place. The nuts were double dipped in milk chocolate then in dark chocolate. I remember that we walked up some stairs to a porch and the gift shop was in the rear right corner. They had gift sets of candy and coffee, etc. Can anyone tell me the name of the place. I would like to order some more of those delicious nuts.
Thanks,
Sandy

I have a t-shirt from the store you're probably thinking of...DONKEY BALLS is the name of the place. That t-shirt has started more than one conversation from strangers who've visited the big island. try doing a google search to order some balls!

enjoy!

Z, I'd love to learn more in practice: why do you think they disappear faster then learning :))

I love them! Especially the chocolate-covered kind. We get them in San Francisco "imported" ;) from Hawai'i.

I met up w/a person from the Asia Fodors board in May 2005. He is from Hawaii and he brought me a box of Mauna Loas. Yum. Such a nice gift.

All this talk about macadamia nuts reminds me of that guy in the movie Best in SHow - the one w/the bloodhound who used to pass the time in the car w/his dog driving to the shows by reciting every kind of nut there is...macadamia nuts...pine nuts...peanuts...walnuts....pecan nuts...

Have you ever tried the Raosted garlic and onion Macadamias?

Mauna Loa makes them...really..

On Oahu there is a Macadamia Farm Outlet that also gives free samples. Located near Kualoa Regional Park and Kualoa Ranch just past Kaneohe.

Macadamia nuts are going the same way as sugar cane and pineapples. Not much grown in Hawaii any more.

Just out of interest Macadamia nuts are an Australian native tree and were introduced to Hawaii in the 1880's.
Not sure about web sites that call it the "Hawaiian Nut"...

Thank you all so much for your input. So far I still haven't found the right place yet though. I do appreciate the help, so if anyone has any other ideas I would appreciate them.
