HiJacking my own thread - sort of - Yesterday I went to MOMA to see a movie that did have a shot of the SOL and of the "skyline" from SI and while not NYC was definitely about Broadway in glorious (and politically incorrect) technicolor.
Annie Get Your Gun
Those of you who live here need a MOMA membership 75 per year - movies FREE - Those who visit MOMA check out the daily film schedule
MY favorite place to see films is the Ziegfeld and starting Friday they will be showing The Soloist - if you are going to see this movie see it there.
Fun Old Theater field trips from Manhattan www.loewsjersey.org - especially this weekend.
On SI - www.stgeorgetheater.org And that's the last from me!

The great thing about NYC theatres like MOMA and BAM and Walter Reade is they go straight to the movie. No commercials, previews or silly skits about movie manners.
I love getting a seat in the first row of the back section at the Ziegfeld - no worries about screen blockage. Not far is the Paris, also with decent staggered height seating.

She Devils (I think thats's the name) - Bette Midler was in it - There was a scene filmed at the Guggenheim and my newly retired accountant/actor father was an extra - He slept on my couch after they were done filming around 2 in the morning - Could not find him in the film though
A lot of American Gangster was filmed along the Uptown Grayline Loop and I often talk about Mt Olivet Church where the final scene where the Mother was by the column was filmed -- Since the Seeger concert I've been saying where the mother played by Ruby Dee .....
She read a poem by Pete at the concert and joined Joan Baez to lead We Shall Overcome
