M Hotel in Las Vegas early Dec, comments? Suggestions? Cowboy Christmas?

I am attending a meeting in Las Vegas and they have rooms reserved at this hotel. I'm hoping someone who has stayed there or at least walked through can tell me more than I can see from their website!

The meeting we are having is during the Rodeo Finals at the beginning of December so I think lots of hotels will be booked and the city will be busy...

I also understand there is something called "Cowboy Christmas" where I might be able to pick up some gifts for the little cowboys in my life? :)

Any information appreciated! TIA.

Honestly, NFR week really isn't that crowded. We were there last year, and the casions were not as busy as they were on holiday weekends during the summer, which is when we usually visit. That being said, don't go to hotels such as South Point and Gold Coast when the post-rodeo awards ceremonies are being held!

There will be several shopping events! The official Cowboy Christmas is at the Las Vegas Convention Center. It's good, but the shopping is more high-end western stuff. The Country Christmas at the Sands Expo Center is HUGE and has all sorts of price ranges. There are also several smaller shopping events at Mandalay Bay and a couple of other hotels.

Thank you ChristieP! I had given up on anyone answering! I will take your suggestions to heart about the shopping! I certainly don't have a "western style" home or anything but I might get a kick out of shopping through that stuff for a few hours for unusual gifts! :)

Thanks so much!

We have stayed at M a few times and really enjoy the property, but it is a long distance from the Strip proper.

The most convenient Cowboy shopping is the one at the Sands Expo center if you plan on using the M Resort's shuttle. I think one cowboy-type shopping event will probably suffice since many of the same dealers have stalls at each.

On property dining is pretty good. Studio B buffet is excellent, but is limited to lunch and dinner. Highly recommended.

Veloce Cibo is on the top floor with excellent views. A $10, limit one per table, dim sum or sushi special has been running for several months so inquire if that sounds good.
Marinelli's (Italian) and Terzetto (steaks & fish) are also more than decent. Hash House A Go Go, opened Oct. 8th, serves extra large portions so be aware.

If you like beer, make sure you go to the 32 degree bar which has an amazing (96) number of beers on draft. Ask the bartender for a menu.

There is a wine bar, Hostile Grape, on the first floor - check the M Resort's website for specials.

They must be run by an awesome Hotel Management Company. All I ever hear or see is good. www.whitewolflodging.com

I just stay at the M in September fabulous place. It is a ways from the strip you should have a car if you plan on doing the strip or Downtown at all . It would be over $30 for a cab ride. They do have a shuttle to the airport. The closest hotel/casino is SouthPoint and its about 5 or 6 miles.

We ate at Marinellis some of the best Italian food I've had in a long time. The seafood buffet on weekend again terrific. The staff at the M goes out of there way to make you feel welcome. I think you will like it.
