LV to Grand Canyon tour
Please recommend a quality tour company (land not air) in order to take a day trip from Las Vegas to Grand Canyon. I have read the other posts. They simply say there are a variety of tour companies. I am interested in seeing the highlights of the GC - I am not into hiking, mule riding, etc. I just want to see the GC. Thanks

Try Gray Line Las Vegas. They have a 14 hour tour that includes breakfast, lunch and a Exclusive Fred Harvey car tour of the south rim. The tour goes daily and costs $159 per person for adults and $139 for children (3-11). Most day tours of the canyon will not have enough time for the mule rides (which generally need to be reserved ahead of time.)

You can book this by calling them at 800-634-6579,

Have fun.

Sarah, I'm too lazy to repeat the information, but if you do a search of "Grand Canyon," you'll come across two very recent postings about the same thing. However, to make a long story short, check out www.actiontours.com and check out the Grand Canyon West/Colorado River tour. It's fabulous. (Again, search for the other posts where I've offered more info.). Have a great time.

Sarah - Just a warning...a one day land trip to the grand canyon is going to consist of a long bus ride for a couple brief stops at the canyon. Be prepared to be disappointed by the amount of time you spend at the rim vs the travel time. The Canyon is great...once u get there.

If you can afford it and don't mind the small planes, the air trip really is fun...you get to see the canyon from above not to mention hoover dam / vegas from above.

We took the air last year and I know i left thinking it was fun but that I would be miffed if i had spent all day in a bus for the canyon part.

joe

ditto.....a day rest on a bus tour would be great.if you can swing it a helicopter tour is fantastic....of the whole canyon...not just the west Rim!.....esp.if you`ll never do it again....
