luxury weekend help !!!
I am trying to plan a 3 night wkd in Oct along the lines of Villa d'Este, Gleneagles, Ciprianni luxury. Some activities such as golf, tennis, hiking, or water sports; and gourmet food (think Le Cirque2000, Alain Ducasse)

Impossible too have it all I am sure, however...

Little Palm Island was in the running until I read in the forums that 2 nights were enough there.

Any new suggestions? Thought of The Point in Saranac(post foliage season though) Round Hill in Jamaica...
Any input would be appreciated.

thnx
Hmmm. I've stayed at both Villa d'Este and Cipriani...small world this forum!
Have you checked into Twin Farms in Barnard, VT just outside of Woodstock? $1000 a night minimum but great food, any request will be honored re: food, picnics arranged, etc. A little like The Point (from what I've heard) but less stuffy.
A trip to Chateau du Sureau east of the SF Bay area would also be a consideration if outstanding food and unique accom's are keys. Side trip to Yosemite would be easy to dovetail.
Are you geographically limited? (3 days only, I'm guessing you are in the NE).
Ever been to the Inn at Little Washington. Been awhile since I was there and recent comments on food have been mixed in some of the luxe travel magazines, but a nice experience nonetheless.

This is a small forum...you guessed correctly- we are geographically limited(have to visit sureau and the new villa another time)...being that we are flying out of NY.

Great suggestions...may I be greedy and ask if anyone has any others??(it is past foliage season @ that time-so TF is out)
THNX again

Have you considered the Wauwinnet on Nantucket? I've never stayed there, maybe October is too late in the season. But it looks gorgeous, and has a reputation for great food.
