luxury oregon
We are planning to make a trip to oregon to visit some friends and visit some of the other attractions in the state. I am having a hard time trying to find any luxury lodging in the wine country or on the columbia river. Has anyone found a hotel, lodge or inn that they would suggest ????/

Wanted to stay here this past fall but they were booked. It has gotten very good reviews. |
The Columbia Gorge Hotel is very nice in Hood River. It is a historic property with beautiful grounds and they do a Farm Country Breakfast in their pretty dining room that is really good. :)
In Astoria, there is the Cannery Pier Hotel on the Columbia River. We haven't stayed there since we have a home in Astoria, but I did take a tour last summer. It is very, very nice. Good luck! ***kim*** ((*)) |
If you're looking for a Columbia River hotel close to Portland, best stay in downtown Portland. Hood River's about 60 miles away, and Astoria's more than 90. Neither is close to Oregon's wine country.
As for wine country accommodations, I'd second Black Walnut as probably the best there is (for now, anyway). If that doesn't appeal, I'd again suggest Portland, since it's only 45 minutes away. |
Definitely the Black Walnut Inn. I haven't stayed there since I live about 10 minutes away, but it is highly regarded amongst the locals. It is known as THE place to stay in this area.
