luxury lodging in seattle
I will be extending a business trip into a much needed vacation for my husband and myself. I have almost no available time to research lodging. We will be going Nov. 20-27. What would be your top suggestion for lodging--I am able to splurge since we haven't had a break in forever. We like some pampering and nice surroundings (we don't care for victorian though).
Thank you, Lorrie Patterson |
The nicest place in town is the Fairmont Olympic Hotel. It used to be a Four Seasons property until a couple of years ago. It's lovely, and in a great location in the heart of the city. It is very close to the 5th Ave Theatre, too, if that is something you are interested in.

Check out The Inn at The Market. It's a small boutique hotel located in the Pike Place Market area. Away from most of the noise of Downtown. Great dining steps away. If you are looking for a romantic dinner spot, I'd suggest Chez Shea, a couple of blocks South.

Likewise the Olympic, also the Hyatt, Inn at the Market, the Alexis or the Monaco. But the Olympic gets first place IMO.
If you'd like something a little different for Thanksgiving, you might consider the buffet at the Woodland Park Zoo. Nothing fancy, but fun and the zoo is a pretty good one. As the bards said, But you can take the crosstown bus If it's raining or it's cold, And the animals will love it If you do. (Route 5 actually) http://www.zoo.org/special_events/ev...m#thanksgiving |
I second (or third) the Inn at the Market. Stayed there a few years ago after an Alaskan trip. Great room, great view, great staff.

I have stayed at, and liked very much, the Inn at the Market. You cannot beat the location, but if you are in search of true pampering go elsewhere. I found the rooms to be quite small and not especially luxurious.

I liked the W a lot. It's more modern, and the room was very comfortable and "cool" looking.
