Luxury hotels in Manhattan, HELP!!!

My wife and I are traveling to New York. We are lucky enough (via the company dime) to be able to stay pretty much anywhere. We have narrowed it down to Caryle or St. Regis. All thoughts and experiences would be greatly appreciated!!

I'd go with the Caryle! Really lovely, classy (without being stuffy) rooms, and in a nice location - close to museums and a short bus ride to shopping on 5th Avenue.

Mike, By chance your company dime is actually a quarter, the Peninsula has some great suites that look up Fifth Avenue. My wife and I stayed in on our wedding night. Not cheap at $1,500 a night, however. The Peninsula has a great bar on the roof, you might want to at least hit it for a cocktail.

My choice would be the Four Seasons

As someone who works in the event industry in NYC I would prefer the Four Season if you have that choice. If it must be one of the two that you mentioned I'd go with the St. Regis.
