Luxor Pyramid or Tower?
Three of us are going to the Luxor next week. We have been allocated a tower room and were wondering if this is the best option as regards spaciousness of room and proximity to facilities, or should we change to a pyramid room?
This is our first visit to Vegas and we would appreciate your input.
Thanks in anticipation.

Keep the tower room! Because the elevators ("inclinators") in the pyramid travel at an angle, they are slow. (really, really, slow) Tower rooms are larger, more nicely appointed, and have separate bathtub and shower. The pyramid rooms have only a shower.

The only advantage of the pyramid rooms is the novelty factor. Once that wears off, they're a bit annoying to get to and from, and they're a little smaller than the tower rooms.

Stayed at Luxor in June last year in the pyramid and had a great room overlooking the pool on the 10th floor, which is the only floor that does have tub shower combo in the pyramid. It was very convienet if you were in the casino and wanted to go back to your room for anything. Tower rooms are quite a distance from the casino. Why stay in the towers if you are going to the Luxor.... isn't that the draw ... The Pyramid? Have a great time. I'm jealous.

Thanks to everyone who replied and a very happy new year to you all. We celebrated the new year an hour and twenty three minutes ago here. So I hope 2003 is a good one for you and all Fodorites.

The pyramid rooms are smaller, older (I've had air conditioning problems in them twice), and not anywhere as nice as the tower. I will not stay at Luxor unless I can stay in the tower.
