Lunch with little girls UWS?

This Friday the City will be mobbed but if school's out, what can you do but grin and bear it. Any recommendations for lunch for 6 and 4 yr old granddaughters w/ their Mom after an outing at Mus. of Nat. History? Our first choice, Alice's Teacup, booked; do not wish to wander over to east side (Amer.Girl, Serendipity, etc.) , so we're aiming for UWS. There has to be an alternative other than cupcakes from Magolias along with a hotdog in the Park, not that there's anything wrong with that... Any hidden discoveries to share?? Thanks from Grandma

There's a Shake Shack across the street from the Museum of Natural History if you don't care about sit-down service.

Sarabeth's is ok for lunch or brunch, but it's pretty expensive.

If you really do want a hot dog, then go to Gray's papaya (Broadway/72nd).

Though I really like Nice Matin, I think the food may be a little fussy for such young girls, and probably equally as expensive as Sarabeth's.

There's also a Le Pain Quotidien on 72nd St.

Let us know what you end up doing.

Thanks all, have a resv at Good Enough to Eat. LePainQ will not work for their limited palates, will advise on locale as well as endurance levels of all....

We always do Shake Shack with the kids after the museum. They love it and there is seating downstairs. Get the cheesy fries:)

We went to Isabellas; delicious, girls were pleased with their standard mac & cheese-- children menu all @$7 & desserts @$5, large portions. We went w/ crab cake sandwich, mahi mahi and spring pea ravioli. Very tasty and prices same as here in suburban Jersey eateries. Reservations were essential, they were very crowded even at 1:30. Long line of young wrapped around corner at Shake Shack, no thanks. While waiting, discovered "Make" where kids design pottery, glass, soap, books, very clever... on Columbus for next time. Thank you Fodorites
