Lunch or Dinner

We are visiting New Orleans in early April for 4 days and want to eat at these 4 restaurants:

Galatoire
Mr. B's
Commander's Palace
Paul K

Need help in deciding which one to book for lunch which for dinner.

Thanks.

Donna

Galatoire - dinner
Commander's Palace - jazz brunch if you're there over a weekend
Mr. B's - dinner
K Pauls - dinner (not sure if they're open for lunch now)

Friday lunch often sees the New Orleans upper crust at Galatoire's. They used to stay all afternoon. Dress up. No reservations.

Good point Ackislander...and I think Friday lunch is sometimes hard to get into at Galatoire's, but it is a must do for at least one meal!

Be aware that Galatoire is closed on Monday. Mr. B also offers a Sunday jazz brunch. I have heard Commander's Palace if now offering $16 lunch specials and 25 cents martinis.

Galatoire's, Commander's and Mr. B's for lunch. Skip K Paul's. Go to Muriel's, Emeril's and Bayona for dinner. You could include August and Tommy's for dinner too. Enjoy your visit.

you're over here too littleman...LOL

I wasn't all that impressed with Emeril's, but it was quite a few years ago. We really enjoyed Muriel's for dinner on a previous visit and had a great meal at Bayona for lunch last year during Mardis Gras. If you like sweetbreads...they are very good at Bayona.

I really disagree about K Pauls. When he originally opened, the restaurant was fabulous. We walked upstairs in the kitchen area and were given samples of all sorts of food. Just wonderful! Then he got famous...alas. The food did a nose-dive and we stayed away for years.

However, when his TV persona lost its sheen, K Pauls found it. The last meal we ate there was incredibly good...probably the best we ate that trip to NO.

Thank you everyone. I am glad I posted as I originally planned to have lunch at Galatoire on Friday. I have changed that to Saturday dinner. We do love sweetbreads so I will try to fit in Bayona. With list in hand, I will now make my reservations. Thank you all.

little...not sure what you're asking. I just meant that you were on my NOLA for St. Pat's posting too with what sound like two very interesting places to try.
