How about down the road in the town that is at the bottom of the Green River--good BBQ there. Saluda. Cute places there.

Okay. I think it was Poplar Lodge. Which isn't open for lunch.
But, evidently a sister restaurant is Kelsey's. That's where we had lunch -

It's been 4 years though. Wish I could be of more help.

If you check this in time... there's a great restaurant in Hendersonville called "Flight" (I believe)... I think it's open for lunch.

I checked their website last night and according the website they aren't (open for lunch).
I checked reviews on new restaurants looking for something new in "downtown" that had great reviews and were open for lunch and didn't see any standouts (like Flight). I was surprised.

Flight does look appealing. I received a local's suggestion of Chopped as an option. Will report back!
Thanks for the help.

We arrived in Hendersonville and found St. Patrick's Day celebrations in full swing. A number of the restaurants on Main St. were very busy. We took the suggestion of Chopped (it may actually be Chopt). It is completely without ambiance and looks like about a thousand other sandwich places in North Carolina, but the food was good, the service was very courteous and pleasant and we had the place to ourselves.
Thank you for the suggestions.
