What area are you calling "Flatiron"? Is two blocks away too far?

I suggested this on one of your other threads -

It's been a few years since I've eaten there but the reviews are still good and it's a place I'd like to return to. A local thinks it's great too.

Hope you find someone who's eaten at ABC.

Be sure to schedule time to wander the Greenmarket and at least walk around Fishs Eddy. Enjoy your trip!

no, not at all, within 10 blocks is okay. thx

Blue Water Grill is an outpost of a local chain. It does not get much love among locals anymore, but I imagine you can get a decent, if not terribly eciting, lunch there.

My own preference might be for Aldea, just to name one nearby option. Ai Fiori is excellent, on Fifth in the 30s. But since you have not given a price range, it is difficult to offer more suggestions.

I've not been yet to ABC, but from all accounts and from experience at the JG flagship, it should be excellent.

Not sure when you plan to visit, but be aware that the USQ Greenmarket is winding down and many farmers will depart after this week. But the Christmas market stalls are up already.

the price is not a concern...

Tocqueville is wonderful.

ekscrunchy Nov 22nd, 2011 10:15 AM

Yes, Tocqueville!

Or even Eleven Madison Park, which is a dazzlingly beautiful restaurant as well as having superb food.

I second the rec for Eleven Madison Park, which is one of the very few restaurants with three Michelin stars and four stars from the NY Times. The menu is a bit funky and some of the food will be hard to recognize but if you are a foodie you'll really enjoy it. If you're a meat-and-potatoes guy then probably better to skip it though.
