Luaus in Honolulu
We are 5 seniors looking for a Luau recommendation in Honolulu. We have 3 days prior to our cruise and would like to experience a luau or similar local barbecue. Where do the locals go? This is not our first trip to the islands. Any other suggestions for activities on those three days would be appreciated.

Probably most "locals" do not go to the commercial luaus unless they have visitors :-) but here are some ideas of what's available:

Thanks for the quick response. We will be there over Thanksgiving, will that change some of our options?

I don't know :-) Just look at the links for the websites above. You'll likely see a calendar or schedule. Or email or call and ask your questions, if the website isn't clear.

For Hawaiian food in town, locals tend to go to Highway Inn, Young’s Fish Market, Helena’s and Da Ono Hawaiian Food. Very casual spots.

Thanks for the info, Suze. Another question- whats the best way to find and arrange for a driver and transportation while were on Oahu? Also, can you recommend temples or museums to visit?
