If you've never done it, do it once to say you've done it. In my opinion its not worth doing again. Spend the $$ on a nice restaurant dinner.

We return to Kauai on Friday and have no plans to do another luau.

This is tough, we did both as it was our 20th anniversary. We went to the Old Lahaina Luau and I must admit the food just ok, but the experience was incredible, FANTASTIC show!!! A memory forever.

We went to dinner for our anniversary at the Plantation House Restaurant at the Kapalua Golf Resort on Maui, had advance reservations, they knew it was our anniversary and gave us their best table which afforded the most fabulous view. That is one incredible golf course and you are set up high enough to have a wonderful view of Molokai and the ocean. The food and service were fabulous. Pricey though.

Tough call, I just posed this question to my husband, and he said his favorite was the luau!!!!! Both would need to be booked in advance however for good seating.

Whatever you decide ENJOY!!!

Definitely the Old Lahaina Luau. The best luau on the island. Worth the money. Food was pretty good to me. Loved the show.

I think the comments about the luau being an experience made me choose that route.
I've made reservations for OLL and for Sarento's on Maui. On the Big Island we're staying at the Hilton Waikoloa so I'm sure we'l be eating an expensive meal in there or at the Roy's in the King's Shops.
I actually walk by the Roy's in Phily often and I'm itching to go again, so I think we may go to one in Hawaii after all.
I've chosen the regular (not on the mats) seating for OLL... good choice?

If you have been to a Luau before then skip it and go to a nice dinner. We were at the Old Lahaina Luau last week. Food & service was marginal at best; typical Luau with a good show.
