Luau in Kaui

My husband and I are going to Kaui for a week and Maui for an additional week in October. We have heard stories about things to do and things to stay away from. We are interested in going to a Luai in Kaui and would like some response from someone who has had this experience and could share their story.

since you mention being also on Maui, I can personally recommend the Old Lahaina Luau. www.oldlahainaluau.com

www.smithskauai.com is the one I see most often recommended for Kauai.

We have been to Kauai, never to Maui. We enjoyed the Smith Family Luau on Kauai; it much exceeded my expectations.

That being said, what I have read about Old Lahaina on Maui, would be my first choice.

Old Lahaina is great. If you are on Kauai on the 9th this might be a great take. Anytime you can see real hula or a local fundraising luau you are in for a real treat.

We saw a little bit of the the Luau at the Hyatt the other night, we didn't attend. It looked pretty unspectacular.

Also check out the website for the Feast at LeLe luau in Maui. It has truly fine cuisine, private tables, right at the beach and a very high quality island music and hula show.
