LOWER Antelope Canyon

hi looking to visit LOWER Antelope Canyon, 25 september will there still be crazy crowds around that time of year ? And do you need to book a tour or can you still just turn up at the lot and pay there ?.

Thanks

You should be fine at the lower canyon. The upper is a different story.

If you can, you should make a reservation. If you don't, you may still be able to join a tour but you may have to wait through some full tours ahead of you.

You are far better off to take the photo tour. It's more expensive and you have to have a DSLR camera and tripod but you get a much better experience with smaller group, you get priority viewing inside the canyon. Most crowded will be midday. I have been there as early as early April, it's still popular so don't expect Sept. to be without a lot of people going through this very small restricted canyon. All that said, it is a don't miss visual experience
