Low season

Is there a low season for hotel prices in New York and if so, what is it? Also, we are planning on driving up from Georgia and would like recommendations or thoughts on what to do with our car. Thanks.

Do you have to drive? It is a very long drive and having a car in NYC is a pain and very expensive. Parking can run you anywhere from $50-75 per day. You can find it a little cheaper but it is work. There really is no "off" season in NYC but January and February are slower because of weather. The Rolling Stones with be in the city in January so avoid those dates. Also, driving up at that time you are more likely to encounter snowy weather so prepare for that. Is there any way you all could fly or take the train?

No real low season. Priceline bidding can get you a pretty good rate on a lot of hotels. But paying for parking is going to increase your costs a lot. Do you have any friends in the NYC area at whose house you can park your car while you come into the city for a few days?

I'd try to avoid any school holiday if I were you. The lines for anything touristy can get really really bad.
