Low Country or Tropical Type Island -Coastal Georgia, SC, NC, or FL?

Any suggestions for an island stay on the coasts of Georgia, SC, NC or FL? Looking for something secluded and similar to the Greyfield Inn on Cumberland Island. We've stayed there and it's exactly what we're looking for but booked for Memorial Day weekend when we want to go), or The Lodge at Sea Island, GA (more than we want to spend). Would like something romantic with the Low Country or tropical type atmosphere, some beach, kayacking, bicycling, at least one wonderful restaurant and we prefer an Inn type atmosphere instead of a condo, villa or chain hotel. Would like to keep the price at $400/night or less. Thanks for any suggestions!

If you like beach and bicycling, then I'd recommend Jekyll Island and for the high-end hotel with a good restaurant, you'd probably want to opt for the Jekyll Island Club.

Thanks. That is a good option and where we may end up. We stayed there @ 10 years ago in the main hotel before the Crane Cottage and Cherokee Cottage were renovated. Any experiences with either of them?

What about -

or the Ritz at Amelia Island?

Definitely consider Little St. Simons Island. Bear in mind that their rates are inclusive and include three daily meals, an evening cocktail reception and all island activities. If you want to know more, here's a nice article written by a travel writer friend:

I am a big fan of The Jekyll Island Inn and I live in the Low Country.
