low country & pet friendly??

Looking for a SC/GA location for 40's couple plus dog. First time traveling with the pooch and am having difficulty finding accomodations. October 1-8 period.

Much prefer an on-the-beach location, house over condo. Stayed in Litchfield years and years ago but am open to suggestions for both location and housing.

Looking for a week of relaxation, seafood, some sightseeing and then more relaxation.

All help appreciated!

If Litchfield Beach and Golf Resort will accept a pet, then go there. Won't find anything much nicer.

have you checked out vrbo.com (vacation rental by owner) they have a little paw icon which indicates if they accept pets

Thanks for the responses. petswelcome and vrbo were both helpful. LB&GR doesn't allow pets, unfortunately.

Do you have to take the dog?

MikeT, this was a question about how to find a pet-friendly place, not a question about whether or not to take a pet somewhere. That decision was already made, obviously, else why would he have posted what he did?

Well, it seems reasonable to ask someone who is having trouble finding accommodations whether they should re-examine their expectations.

Not as an entry level question. Good info for them, as they said.
