Lou's Kenai River B & B

We are planning a trip in July 2008 and have been trying to decide where to stay for 3 nights somewhere on the Kenai River. Does anyone know anything about Lou's Kenai River B & B? We are looking for a cabin for 2 couples. We don't really plan on doing much fishing but would like to stay on the river and maybe fish one day. We would like to hike, maybe go clam digging, sightsee. Thanks!

I am sorry but I did not see Lou's Kenai River B & B while we were in the Kenai Peninsula.. They did have chain hotels in Soldotna.. we did find that the different places we stayed on our 10 day driving trip did not justify the brochures.. so be aware of that !
and I don't mean that in a good way...

Hi - thanks for the info. I have made reservations at Sunset Cabins which is about 17 miles outside of Soldotna - the website looks great - hopefully it's true to life! Where did you stay while you were there? We are also going to Seward and staying at the Box Canyon Cabins and are staying in Denali 3 days at the Skyline Lodge. We want to stay in Talkeetna before and after the Denali trip so are probably going to stay at the Talkeetna Roadhouse which is pretty much just a bed to sleep in but hopefully it will be comfortable. Any advice/comments would be appreciated!

We stayed in September when it was much cheaper, but we absolutely loved the Kenai Princess Lodge which I think is owned by a cruise line. The rooms have a bedroom and living room with a fireplace which opens to both rooms. The grounds are lovely, the restaurant is very good, the view of the river is gorgeous, and there are hot tubs scattered throughout the grounds.

We just came back from two weeks in South Central Alaska. We spent two nights in Talkeetna and stayed at the Talkeetna Cabins. Fantastic. I highly recommend it.
