Louisville area caterers
To LLindaC, kybourbon, PamelaPBS and other Louisville area residents - can anyone recommend an in-home caterer? We are looking to do a gourmet cocktail party/dinner for about 20 people in the Shelbyville area at a private home. It is going to be a surprise so I can't exactly ask my mom (who the surprise is for) which caterers are good! Thanks. By the way, people will be travelling to get there :)

Carolyn...I am a musician and work many parties and can highly recommend 3 caterers: The Upper Crust, The Silver Spoon and Naiman's. Do a google search and you'll find those..if not, I'll send you contact info. Have fun!!

here's a link with contact numbers:
http://www.kye-s.com/catering.htm Silver Spoon and Upper crust are on there. I have also used BAJ for my wedding at Kye's and they were good. Wiltshire Pantry is on here- another good one, IMO. I've never worked with Napa River Grill, but I eat there a LOT and it's one of our top favorite restaurants in Louisville. That should keep you busy for a while, LOL! |
Thanks for the suggestions. My mom has actually used the Silver Spoon before so I know she likes them. Thanks again! I'll let you know who we choose -

Hi Carolynf - I'm from the Lexington area so I'm not really familiar with Louisville caterers. While looking for restaurants to host Fodorite GTG's, I found Lilly's/LaPeche which has catering. Their menus look interesting.
http://www.lillyslapeche.com/catering_home.html I'm sure Starspinner has used quite a few caterers in the area, but she is in England for 3 weeks. How soon is the event? |
I forgot about Kathy...she would be a good choice. I've never done a party with her staff, but I'm sure it would be excellent.

The event is not until next summer...but trying to get everyone to KY (from NY, Boston, Virginia, etc.) is such a process that I need to do some advance planning. It's my mom's 60th and my parents 35th wedding anniversary...hoping to have a fun party!
