Louisiana Cajun music

Next spring planning on driving from Houston to New Orleans for a couple of nights, before heading on to the Keys in Florida. I would like to catch some authentic Cajun music somewhere along the way. could stop and overnight at anywhere along the way (before or after NO) that provides that opportunity. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Lake Charles LA is well known for Cajun and Zydeco music. Huricaine Laura hit the area on August 27 and did a great deal of damage. I hope that the area is nearly back to normal by next spring.

No first-hand knowledge, but I've read that Mobile, Alabama is home to the first Mardi Gras. Does anyone know if zydeco is there also??
Have a great trip, BillJ, and please report back!

We ate at a place in Breaux Bridge that had decent food , and good live Cajun Music with a dance floor. I’ll try to find the name.

Edited to add: Pont Breaux’s Cajun Restaurant.
