Los Angeles to Phoenix

Planning to drive from Los Angeles to Phoenix via Route 10. Has anyone taken that trip? Any sights worth stopping at? Comments on the ride?

Outside of Palm Springs/Palm Desert, not much! Lots of wide-open desert beyond LA basin. Give yourself 5-6 hours. We've done it hundreds of times from Ventura county and still have not found a decent place for lunch between PS - Phx! Blythe is a natural half-way point.

Dave: Thanks. Sounds like a boring trip!
Anyone else?
Don

"Has anyone taken that trip?"
No, you're the first person to come up with the idea of driving from LA to Phoenix! What a new concept.

It is a really boring drive, unless you enjoy sand, cactus and tumbleweeds.

Why drive when Southwest offers airfare of $58 roundtrip? Also, you can get a full-size rental car for $20 a day and a 3 star hotel in on Priceline.

I've driven this route many times, and it is just the most awful drive. Even though its about 5 hours, it feels like 10! No scenery at all. I agree with previous poster, fly if you can!
ann

I drive this route all of the time and while it is not very scenic, it is a pretty fast drive since there's limited traffic problems. I've flown it a number of times as well and have always wished I just brought my car. By the time you have to wait at the airports, you might as well be on the road.

Don, do you believe me now????????????
I do agree with the above, if I'm in a hurry, I'll fly Burbank-PHX and rent a car for a weekend.
