Los Angeles Theater

We'll be in LA only 1 night (April 11). I was hoping to see a play or go to a concert. Nothing is listed for the Pantages at that time. Any good websites where I can find this info? Thanks.

You might try ticketmaster.com and enter your date to see what they show.

But since it is a Friday night I can assure you there will be a lot of theatre (not necessarily major tours or events) going on. I love the smaller theatres in LA most operating only on weekends. Many of them are "Equity Waver" theatres of 99 seats or less which allows union actors to work for nothing or less than scale. We have never had a problem getting tickets at the last minute to some of these -- get an LA Weekly the week before you go.

You can go to the LA Weekly website (look up on google) which lists current theater and should give you numbers to call directly for tickets. The LA Times also has a good website for events. This a bit to far in advance but will give you some ideas for theater. I wouldn't wait till the week before you get here though.

The Geffen in Westwood might be an option, also could try The Groundlings for sketch comedy.

Definitely try www.theatrela.org
You can look up general listings of shows and also get tickets to some great shows for Half off! The catch is that 1/2 off tix are only available the week of the show. Take a look tho...post another message in late March and I'll see what I can recommend...I typically see a show twice a month or so...

Also, LA weekly can be accessed at www.laweekly.com - great resource for theatre goers...
