Los Angeles Private Dinner for 50

Hi

I am looking for a nice restaurant to have a wedding dinner for 50 in a private room, preferably with an ocean view.

I'd like something not too stuffy, but not too casual either. Probably nothing too ethnic for the cuisine- I'm not really considering indian, mexican, thai, etc. Any suggestions?

Also, i don't have an exact budget, but I am thinking 60-80/person with alcohol?

I'm going to a small wedding reception this Saturday for 85 people. It's in the Pacific Room at the Portifino Hotel in Redondo Beach with views overlooking the water in King Harbor.

We did a reception dinner for our son and daughter in law at Redondo Beach and stayed at the Portifino Hotel.

But we did the dinner just across the marina upstairs at the Cheese Cake Factory.

Might be out of your budget, but Duke's or Gladstone's in Malibu (not positive if they have private rooms, but I believe they do).

Also in Redondo, Bluewater Grill has an upstairs room with views of the harbor. Chart House has a small private room, too.

For something different, check The Chelsea at the Queen Mary.

For restaurant or venue specific questions I'd also post this question on chowhound.com's Los Angeles forum.

I love the Queen Mary, it is a great place. We spent a couple of nights there and did the Sunday brunch.

I don't know if they still do the fireworks off the fantail, but they are probably the best I have ever seen.

If she works for you then I would highly recommend her.
