Looking for wonderful lodging in Key West

My husband and I will be spending 3 days in Islamorada and then travelling on to Key West for 3 days. Had our hearts set on staying at the Gardens Hotel but they have a 4 night minimum stay during February, 2007. We are looking for something very nice, very quiet with beautiful rooms and surroundings. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Quiet? I guess that's relative on Key West.

My favorite place is Pier House, on 1 Duval Street. It has a great small private beach.

Well I got 2 for you. The Heron House (never stayed there but did get to see the grounds) or the Marquesa Hotel.

janie,

Sorry about the Gardens..We've stayed there and loved it...our second choice would have been the Marquesa....we have enjoyed dinner at their restaurant, Cafe Marquesa, several times... food was very good.

No_name is right on, those would be my first two choices as well.

Definitely the Marquesa!

I would recommend Simonton Court. They have lovely garden areas, five pools and the rooms are all very differant. Less formal in feel than the Marquesa. We've stayed at Simonton twice and love it.
