We stayed at the Beartooth Inn in Cody. It met our needs...coffee pot, fridge, comfy beds, very clean, etc. Don't remember if it had a microwave or not. Definitely go to the museum in Cody. It is fantastic and both you & the 13 yr olds will enjoy it. Your ticket is good for 2 days since there is so much to see. Cody also has a rodeo every night that is fun. Lots of choices for restaurants in Cody. We stayed in Jackson while visiting the Tetons. You could take a float trip down the river or take the boat trip across Jenny Lake and do some hiking. In Yellowstone there is plenty to see & do...we stayed in the cabins next to the Old Faithful Lodge. Enjoy your trip.

Hi sukag,
The Tetons and Yellowstone, including the town of Cody are very popular destinations. There are lots of great trip reports here. You can find them by either simply searching by state or by putting in the keywords in the search box above.
Happy reading!

We were in Cody last summer and stayed at the Bill Cody Ranch. They are cabin accommodations. They were very nice clean comfortable cabins. Since it was just two of us we had a 1 bedroom cabin but they did have family cabins. You can stay 1 night or as many nights as you want no minimum requirement. The ranch is about 20 minute drive from the center of cody but it's a scenic drive. They have a restaurant on the property. They also offer trail rides which your grandsons might enjoy. Even if you didn't take the trail ride you can go up to the corral to watch the cowboys take care of the horses. We didn't ride but enjoyed watching cowboy life. The ranch is very near the east entrance to yellowstone so makes it easy to continue your trip into Yellowstone. We stayed at Old Faithful which I would recommend if you could get a room. It is a wonderful lodge.

June is a good time to visit, not as crowded. If at all possible drive the Beartooth Highway.
