Looking for suggestions for week long trip in October

My husband and I will celebrate our 30th anniversary in October and we'd like to take a trip to celebrate. We can leave after work on a Friday and return 9 days later on Sunday so we actually have 9 days including the travel days. We like big cities and historical/cultural sites and museums. We aren't foodies and aren't into nightlife. We also love road trips. We'd be leaving from Detroit and are open to either flying or driving . We're looking at leaving October 8th but that is somewhat flexible.

We've already been to New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, Washington D.C., Chicago, Seattle, and Charleston as well as a number of smaller U.S. cities.

We are considering a combined trip between Savannah and St. Augustine. Other thoughts?

We're also open to Europe, so I'll be posting that this on the Europe board too. Thanks!

Maybe you want to consider Quebec City in Canada. Beautiful city with lots of historical places to visit. Clean and safe as well. Chateau Frontenanc is a bit expensive but it is an amazing hotel and you can walk anywhere. The city has a real European flair with amazing restaurants.

Santa Fe, New Mexico, the California Wine Country or a drive up the California coast, New England road trip, Miami Beach and surrounding areas including the Florida Keys, Pennsylvania Dutch country.

If Europe, how about Paris with side trips to Normandy and Versailles (sp?) or maybe the Loire Valley - nwe've done this several times and it never gets "old". There's always London with side trips to outlying areas or Scotland. How about a trip to Rome and Tuscany.
