Looking for resort with golf and spa

Hello. A friend of mine and her husband would like to get away for a long weekend (leaving their 2 kids behind). They live in NJ and would like to go somewhere that will be somewhat warm in January or February (Florida would work but they are open to other suggestions). A resort that offers golf and spa services would work great for them. They'd be willing to spend as much as $500 a night (give or take). Any suggestions? Thank you.

Grande Dunes Resort in Myrtle Beach, SC.....awesome place.

I was just at the Boulders outside of Phoenix - gorgeous place. Each room has a small mini bar area with micro and fridge - huge bathrooms (double sinks) seperate bath from shower and a fireplace. If you request a second floor you with also have a balcony.

The spa is a Golden Door spa - one of the best and there is tons of golf. It's a little far from NJ but I would highly recommend it and you would be be almost guaranteed good weather in January.

Myrtle Beach won't be warm enough in Jan/Feb.

The Ritz beach resort in Naples is lovely and they have a sister resort (a short shuttle bus ride away) that has golf. Beautiful spa, lovely pools, beachside dining, etc.

Another choice would be PR. We stayed at a Wyndham there with golf and spa and private beach.

I second the Boulder's recommendation. But, the flight time and time change can make it challenge coming from the East Coast for a long weekend.

I would probably check into the Ritz Carlton in Naples. Flights on Continental into Ft. Meyer's can be reasonable. The only issue with availability and cost might be if it is their intention to go over the President's Day long weekend.

I was at the Boulders a couple of months ago and had a home/villa and though we really enjoyed the golf course and love the Cave Creek area, I found the resort to be below par for what they charge and it is not a 5* resort..just my two cents..
I prefer the Phoenician, Biltmore, Gainey Ranch, Princess , Keirland or the Four Seasons.
I would say come to San Diego but it might not be as warm as AZ..
La Costa Resort or Four Seasons Aviara are nice in the Carlsbad area.

Haven't been there in awhile - but there is a Bonaventure Spa in Ft Lauderdale. It was fabulous, and the food was spectacular..... It's now a Hyatt - take a look at that....
