This problem is very far from simple. Actually to realize that the answer is not obvious is one of the key features of a good mathematician. I am not talking about BSc level here.

Actuaries are an integral part of any insurance program, who are, of course, mathematicians. And the actuary certification exams are probably the hardest set of professional tests in the USA.

I can;t believe this is still alive. We could have solved all of the problems in the middle east by now.

And just so you understand - insurance does NOT cover what any airline would reimburse you for or take care us (a in putting you on the next flight out). It's one or the other not both. I'm afraid you don;t really have the concept of insurance.

Very true.Glad there is smbd who understands the complexity of the question. I actually know some people who are much smarter than me and nobody said those exams are easy.

What the smartest people do, is reduce a complex issue or problem so it is practicable, simple, and, if possible, repeatable.

Stas, you have complicated travel insurance beyond the bounds of reason and its usage.
