Looking for Red Rock Landscape
We have stayed in Abiquiu, New Mexico, and that is the kind of area I am looking for now. Here is a photo of the area:
http://tinyurl.com/az6436s Can anyone give me some suggestions as to where to look in New Mexico and Arizona where the landscape is mainly red rocks. We are looking to spend a month there in March so not a place that will be covered with snow. I have looked into Sedona but most places are already rented for March. Thank you! |

There are so many places for rent in Sedona and that area. Have you tried the Village Of Oak Creek, just outside Sedona? It has red rock views and is a really nice community. That is where I'd stay for a month, and rental rates are cheaper there also.

oh, I see clarkgriswald was also suggesting Village of Oak Creek w/his 2nd link. Good suggestion.

Nice, thank you both. I will start researching vrbo.
Any other suggestions would be great too. |
Your photo looks like Monument Vllaey in northern AZ on Utah state line which is mostly Navajo lands. You can stay at The View.
I love Sedona with it's red rocks too but your open vista photo is more like Monument Valley. |
Assuming you find a place in Sedona - you could also use that as a base and get over to Monument Valley - the Navajo National Monument http://www.nps.gov/nava/index.htm - and the Grand Canyon, etc.

We live in the Village of Oak Creek, Sedona. Try Pat at Coldwell Banker real estate for Canyon Mesa CC rental 928 300 1278. This is incredible RRock country but March is popular with golfers. Also try KUDOS, Sedona, for rental info and VRBO, Airbnb.

Monument Valley is beautiful, but I'm not sure what the OP would do there for a month, unless they want to use the area as a base for visiting the national parks that are sort of nearby.

Bryce Canyon = red rocks.

Just thought of something. Have you heard of "Grand Circle"? Google it. It's an area with mostly red rocks landscapes, but with some variety too.
Here is one link, it's a tour, but it will give you the idea with the photos http://www.utah.com/nationalparks/gr...-itinerary.htm |
Elen - I meant to base in Sedona and then drive from there over to Monument Valley - maybe staying a night there.

Thanks everyone...great suggestions!
