Looking for place to stay Downtown Chicago for Group

We are planning a Girls Weekend for 5 girls all around 40 yrs old. We are looking for a place to stay that can accomodate us all. Are there any condo rentals, or suites that sleep 5 comfortably?? Thanks in advance.

When are you going

How much $$ are you wanted to spend (each)

Where do you want to stay - what part of Chicago

How many nights will you be staying

We are flexible with our dates. We are hoping to go Feb, 2006. We need Friday thru Sunday (2 nights). We would like to keep the costs moderate.

We want to be downtown. Planning on seeing a show and doing some shopping. We will have one car with us. Thanks!

I know of a "girls group" that goes in every year and stays at The Embassy Suites. They like the location, managers reception and brunch in the morning. It seems to work well for them!

I was just looking at the embassy suites website and they have special girls night out rate packages, however they don't seem to have any rooms available at those rates for the next three months. We'd really like to go before april 1st. I will look into their other rates though. Thanks!

oakwood.com has short term apartment rentals. The property at 77 West Huron is walking distance to north Michigan Avenue, although most of their properties are in good locations for shopping except the one on Jefferson.

I used to live nearby, so I haven't stayed there, but a poster named patrick (no relation!) wrote about a recent stay.

When we visit Chicago with our kids, we stay at the Homewood Suites. Great, central location, and free breakfast (which, to be honest, I don't like but they do). We always get a one-bedroom suite with one bathroom, but they may have biggest suites available.

If you're trying to keep costs down, you should try to avoid having any car at all. The parking charges will be high.

If you do end up with a car, you might like a hotel near Millennium Park as you can park there for just over $16/day.

You might look at any hotel and getting connecting rooms. Should be able to sleep 5 easily that way, and you'd have two bathrooms, plus flexibility to find the best rates.

Have you tried the Omni Chicago Hotel on Michigan Avenue? They have suits and it's a great location!

FYI, downtown hotels will usually charge $25-30 for parking nightly.

Actually, Michigan Ave. hotels are generally around $37/day for parking. It's unbelievable! That's why it can be so great to stay near Millennium Park. Or Best Western River North has free parking.

I like fun2travel's post regarding the Embassy Suites. Can't beat the manager's reception with free beer/wine to get you gals going. The location downtown is convenient too. Free breakfast in the a.m. will save some money. Happy travels!

We staed in the Residence Inn, they have two bedrooms accommodations with sofa beds in the living room.
