Looking for marijuana on Big Island

Does anyone know a safe way to get some dope on the Big Island? I read in a guidebook that it is grown there, but how can one get some?

Any locals out there with a good answer?

sam Mar 14th, 2001 11:27 AM

You want dope? Easy. Look in a mirror.

Tossy Mar 14th, 2001 01:47 PM

You won't have a problem obtaining marijuana ( or anything else ) in Hawaii. The dealers will approach you as soon as you leave your hotel/condo etc.

smarterthanthaqt Mar 14th, 2001 01:56 PM

Excuse me bu there is nothing safe about drugs including getting them. I can't believe how brave you are to post this on a travel site. Well maybe not so brave, I mean you didn't leave your name or email address after all so can I have them, my husband is a polce officer . . .

I see the college kids who couldn't afford to go away on Spring Break are wrecking havoc on our board again. OR, maybe it's bored high school kids. Do your parents know what you are doing. Apparently not. Go troll somewhere else you losers.....

You should know better than to ask a question like that on this forum--try Lonely Planet. Lots of mean Nazi-types here these days (who like to use the term "troll" a lot).

chintzler Mar 14th, 2001 03:51 PM

Yea, they'll sell it to you . . .
then call the cops and turn you in to
collect the reward.

Mike Mar 14th, 2001 03:56 PM

In the old days (especially in the 40s and 50s) Puna, on the Big Island, was a wonderful place. Pakalolo (marijuana) has changed all of that. In the old days, people never bothered to lock their doors and never hesitated to help strangers. It was a paradise. Since the introduction of pakalolos, all of this has changed. Theft is rampant, people are paranoid, murders are committed, hiking into remote areas is risky... I am a hypocrite in the sense that I did smoke "grass" in my youth; however, in retrospect, when I think of the damage done to the society and environment of this area, I am saddened at how we can destroy what was once good...

Doc Mar 15th, 2001 09:14 AM

Oh it's only marijuana---well, when you are in your 50's and have the start of alzheimers remember all that pot you smoked.....

ohplease Mar 15th, 2001 09:37 AM

Hey Doc, you wanna point me to that study that concluded that marijuana causes Alzheimers? I must have missed that.

I can't believe how many of you have so blindly accepted your government's position on a drug with no proven health hazards above and beyond cigarettes or alcohol. Addictive? no. No medicinal value like every other schedule I drug? NO!

Lock him up for 3-5 years?!?!? Yeah, that will solve society's drug problem. Those potheads are so violent and dangerous to society that we should lock them up for buying a z or two of weed (that's ounce for those of you who didn't go to college). Wake up people, weed is not the problem. It may even be part of the solution. I for one dearly hope druggie can find some good buds and rip a binger for me. .. .

Well to begin with, "z" doesn't stand for ounce, it is oz. In response to your comment about marijuana not being addictive you are wrong. People become mentally dependent on marijuana all the time. Theythink they need that numb stoned feeling to get through the day. smoking mj does kill brain cells above and beyond alcohol or tobacco use. I don't know about the alheimer's thing, I'm not familar with the studies. also you state its no worse than tobacco? Well isn;t tobacco pretty bad, I mean it causes death how much worse can you get than that? As you know the age for using both tobacco and alcohol is also restricted to 18 and 21 respectively, many mj users have not reached that age and are not adult enough to make an informed choice. Also I would say if you believe mj should be legalized that is fine. Lobby for a change in the law as is your right. But, for now it is NOT legal, please respect the laws of this country and comply. There are many laws I don't agree with but I don't go around breaking them just because I don't believe them! This just fosters more crime and encourages further violence such as stealing and guns. If you want to smoke mj, join a PAC to lobby to have the law changed and if that la is changed then smoke away (but not near me I hate even cigarette smoke) Until that time, go to Amsterdam!

Uh, what were we talking about?

Leone Mar 15th, 2001 10:39 AM

Look, isn't anyone going to lighten up and say "Mary Jane" ... I used to love that phrase. I cannot recall how many "Gonzo" times we had at the beach ... those Hunter S. Thompson "fear and loathing" mornings, after there was such hospitality and generosity that no one ever had to say "don't Bogart that joint, my friend." This thread is so PC ... it really ought to contain its own health warning, you know ... something to the effect "WARNING, faith-based discussion in progress ... if you think and feel, proceed at your own risk." Smoke if you got 'em. Bill didn't inhale ... yo. Ciao

Missy Mar 15th, 2001 10:55 AM

Hey, Leone, aren't you the dude who only wears b b and more b? What does one wear to smoke reefer in NYC?

xxxx Mar 15th, 2001 11:00 AM

Fact-marijuana kills brain cells! Leone is proof-positive. He is definitely missing a few brain cells, so are the rest of you weird, half-baked morons!

xxx Mar 15th, 2001 11:11 AM

Fact: Wine kills brain cells.
Fact: Fevers kill brain cells.
Fact: Brain cells die on thier own.
Opinion: Ignorance makes for bad policy.

anon Mar 15th, 2001 11:17 AM

Love your facts but why didn't you include the rate and number each kills brain cells? Most likely because yes braain cells do die on their own at a slow rate (about the same rate as new ones are generated to be exact)I think the MJ rate is much higher and kills more!
