looking for input on Pebble Beach ProAm next year

One of the must do's on my life list is the ATT ProAm golf tournament. It is every February at Pebble Beach. Has anyone done this? Should I just bite the bullet and arrange the trip through some tour company that will get me good tickets, room etc or can I go it alone and do just as well.

I'd like to stay at the Spanish Inn I think. Have just started putting this plan together and wonder if it should be for next February or the one after. I keep thinking this trip might have to be planned and booked like Wimbledon.

Anyone?

LiMsFoodie, I would go ahead and bite the bullet and go through a tour company.

Golf tournaments always sell out everything around them for a 100 mile radius.

You'll get a better room and better tickets through a tour company.

Tickets usually aren't a problem -- we go almost every year and just buy them at the gate. But finding accomodations anywhere near Pebble Beach during the tournament will be a major challenge, especially this late in the game. You'll likely have to settle for going next year unless you find a tour company that has existing reservations.

With credit and gratitude to one of my brothers, I've been fortunate to check this one off my list......twice. I can only advise, do it. If you're into golf, it's pretty much everything you imagine, even when the weather sucks.

Nothing else to offer. We stayed in Watsonville, and drove each day. Spanish Inn is dreamland. Hope you make it happen.

Then..... play the same courses. Til the day I die, I'll remember the three iron I hit on 8 at Pebble: eight feet above the hole. Of course, I three-putted for bogey....

Thanks everyone. Right now, I think I'll go for the room first...thinking that the hotel will have tickets for me. Maybe two years or more out. Will call Spanish Inn this week and give you guys a report.

I think this area is just about heaven on earth even though my handicap precludes me from even riding on a cart at the courses :-) LMF
