Looking for downtown Seattle Condo to Rent 2 weeks in June 2009

Hello:

My husband and I are looking for a downtown Seattle Condo to rent . We are looking for something for 2 weeks in June. We live in Tucson, AZ and want to get away from the heat for a while. Have tried VRBO, Sea to Sky and have had no luck finding something we like. We are not going to be using a car, so we want to walk to everything. Preference area is close to Pikes. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

Was there nothing available at the Harbor Steps through those sources? Or if there was, what didn't you like about those apartments? That will help to try to make other suggestions.

This question was asked last summer by a woman who was looking for a downtown apartment for a few weeks while her husband was here on business. I have tried to locate the thread, but I can't. As I recall, she found a place to stay using this service: http://www.executiveresidence.com/we...ent-rental.htm

NWWanderer and happytrailstoyou : There were some Harbor Steps on some of the sites but they were all two bedroom and we are looking for 1 bed and bath. We also couldn't seem to find a direct contact for them. We were in Seattle in August and did stop into the management office and were told that they didn't do any subleting. So if you have another contact for Harbor Steps that would be great.

Thanks happytrailstoyou; I couldn't find my notes from our trip in August and giving me this site again is perfect.

I don't understand the reference to Harbor Steps. Were you responding to subsets at this property: http://www.harborsteps.com/main.htm

Hi - just a thought since I'm a Seattle native! June can be very dicey weather, sometimes awful: rainy and gray for days on end. It could be cold (for you) but that's what I'm assuming you want! If you want better, more beautiful weather, you'd want to book August again, or July or September (which is often the best month in the NW). October can also be splendid! We Northwesterners live by the "summer begins on July 5th" rule.

Hi Portlander: Thanks for responding, but we actually would welcome the wet weather, as in June Tucson is normally between 90 to 105 degress with about 7% humidity. We are looking for the mid June to early July. BTW we lived in Portland for several years in the early 70's so are familiar with the weather. We were in Seattle in late August last year for an Alaskan cruise and stayed for a few days before and after. We thought it was sort of funny when it got to over 90 degrees in Seattle, and we thought it was great with the ocean breezes.

Happytrailstoyou: Just to expand, we haven't looked at anything on the net for Harbor Steps as I said we were told they didn't sublet, however, thanks for the link I will check it out.

You all have been great thanks for your input

If downtown doesn't work out for you, I encourage you to check the other close in neighborhoods (I live on Capitol Hill and love it, for example). It's less than 2 miles from downtown, with great public transportation, but you're in a neighborhood with lots of trees, parks, etc. instead of all concrete. Just a thought... Capitol Hill, First Hill, lower Queen Anne all fit this description.
