Looking for Best/Cheapest way to get into Disney??

This will be our first trip to Disney in September. There will be 4 adults and we are really on a limited budget. Got a great deal on the hotel but am stumped as to how to get the best prices on tickets?? Are there any days cheaper than others? Are they only sold at the gate? Thank you, MLM

They don't discount 'em! We found no place that does.

If one of you work for or are retired from the military or police dept, fire dept, Federal Gov't (FBI, CIA, Customs)
you can get 5 tickets discounted 1/2 at Universal.
I heard that Disney is doing the same throughout 2002.
Be prepared to show appropriate gov't issued ID.

Here we go again....before someone hollers at you, I'd suggest you mention which Disney you're going to. Perhaps there is a difference between Florida and California. Kelly

AAA gives a little discount to members. Plus you can buy them ahead of time for convenience and quicker entry.
Which Disney??

The cheapest way to get into Disney is to dress in large Mickey Mouse costume and pretend to greet people at the gate, just kind of wander in like you belong. Problem is that you will get numerous requests for photos and trying to go to the bathroom can be a bit of a hassel.

We just got back from Disney World a couple of weeks agao.

Before going we joined the Disney Club, That gave us a discount on our hotel room, park tickets , and more.

We definitely got our $30 worth.

We also use the Disney Club (www.disneyclub.com). On our recent trip, we got a discount on our rooms at both Animal Kingdom Lodge and All Star Movies, and discounts on our tickets. Definitely worth the membership fee. You can get your park passes at any Disney Store.

Thanks guys for the responses. I'm so sorry, dumb me...I should have mentioned that we are going to Disneyland in Anaheim. I guess people in Western states or those over 50 just assume it's the original Disneyland and those in Eastern states probably think of Disneyworld. I'm sorry I didn't originally post that. Thanks so much! MLM

there is a good, independent website for disney called mousesavers.com. the author also provides links to many other disney related sites. Mousesavers has lots of info for discount, where to stay, what to do, etc. it was very helpful in planning a great trip for my family.

Tickets are cheaper for Southern California residents so maybe you'll meet someone at the hotel or in the parking lot who will be kind enough to buy you a ticket as their "guest". I think each SoCal resident can also buy a ticket for one guest.

Just be careful that you buy them from a "real" place. Do not buy on ebay, from a guy on the street, etc who says he has multi-day passes that are only partially used. You have no way of verifying how many days, if any, are actually left.
