Looking for a romantic B&B in Charleston, S.C.
There are alot of great places in Charleston. Make sure you stay in the historic district. Very pricy but well worth it. You won't need a car - everything is within easy walking distance. We stayed at a hotel called Kings something - I can't recall but it was a historic hotel dating from the early 1800's. Wonderful place!

I think Mark is talking about King's Courtyard Inn??? A great place. But the ultimate is probably the Meeting Street Inn B&B looking out over the waterfront - gorgeous from the outside, and have heard wonderful things!

When I saw this, my first thought was of Two Meeting Street Inn. As a Chas. resident, I have never stayed there, but I know that it has a wonderful romantic history (the house was a wedding gift) and a terrific location. It is right on the Battery (a park by the water). The one drawback is that it is a little far from the market area (food & shopping) if you are walking back at night and don't know the way very well. Also, I am not sure of their prices.

Beth,

Thank you! I left the "Two" off "Meeting Street Inn." That's what I meant. When I was in Charleston, I wondered if that inn would be a bit of a hike, as nice as it is. I don't like to walk too far after dark, no matter how nice an area is supposed to be. Now you can ride the shuttles until about 10 - 11pm, can't you? That would be a solution if that's a problem.

My vote goes for the Two Meeting Street Inn, too!
