Looking for a reception/beach spot
Where would you suggest to look for a great wedding reception place. I want to have a church wedding. Then have the reception at a place that has a wonderful water view, or maybe has a deck. I don't know how I feel about going to a restaurant.

Then all of our guests will need lodging. It is my hope that I can get houses for everyoe to share.

Please help!

What part of the country are you interested in?

East coast.....north carolina or sout carolina.....would maybe consider Virginia.....but like NC and SC better.

Litchfield Plantation. 260 year old former rice plantation. The entrance is lined with 250 year old live oaks covered in spanish moss.
|
that is funny you say Litchfield. I originally started with that place. Only problem, the beach house that they own, is not on the property. Your guests have to drive to it. Then the plantation itself is on the river, but still no view of the water for a reception. I'm sure you still get to keep the mosquitos though. :)

I really want a place on the water. That is what I want the most.

if it was me, i would try bald head island. or possibly figure eight island.

i have attended two weddings at litchfield. it was very nice. the food wasn't anything to write home about.

i also went to a wedding at a place near georgetown called debordieu. it was classy and a fun weekend. call them and see what you can do. i don't know if you have to be a member.

Have to be a member at the Deb.
|
Sorry Shannon but my parents are members and pay a lot of money to be members. As with any country club, if you aren't a member you have to be sponsored by one. No go.

hi. I got married at Deb two summers ago. It is such a beautiful place. The person I worked with in catering has since left. My friend recently had her wedding there as well.

I was not a member, and nobody sponsored us. Don't let the keep you from trying to go there.

I thought about going to Litchfield when I got married. But, Deb was easier, on the water like you are looking for, all our guests rented homes together. We had around two hundred people attend. Half of them stayed on the property. It was such a blast.

You can caravan to Myrtle for the ultimate night out with the wedding party. We went to House of Blues and saw a show.

Also, there is golf, the pool and of course the beach. Have a great time. You will not forget it I promise.
