Looking for a Maui hotel with:
 

--Nice beach area (with waitress service for food and drinks)<BR>--Good ocean swimming area<BR>--Nice pool WITH SWIM-UP BAR (we like that)<BR>--Not tons and tons of kids<BR>--very clean, nicely appointed rooms<BR>--Somewhere around $300-$350 a night max<BR>--convenient location to some "action" (restaurants, shops, etc.)<BR>Which hotels meet ALL of these specifications???<BR>

Well I think that no one has answered because most hotels that I know of in Maui have some but not ALL these ammenities. I haven't seen to many swim up bars in Hawaii, I have seen many in Mexico though.

The Kea Lani and the Hyatt have swim-up bars, I believe, but you may want to double check. They also probably have everything else you are asking for, except for maybe the waitress service on the beach. I don't know of any place that has that.

When I was at the Hyatt on Maui there was a swim up bar in the grotto between the waterfalls. We went in April and it was nearly deserted. Close by is Whalers village where there are lots of shopd and restaurants as well as a little museum. We had a great room with an ocean view and a view of the swan area, Swan Court and the south end of the pool.<BR><BR>I don't know about the beach area as we didn't use that but I believe there were beach chairs provided by the resort. Also it's policy for the Hyatt to post swim warnings as I saw the same sign at the Hyatt on Kauai.

The Hyatt does have a swim-up bar, in a grotto, but I don't think it is what you have in mind. The Hyatt's beach area isn't very wide, so that knocks the Hyatt out of competition. I don't know of any hotels that have waitress service on the beach. They don't want people eating & drinking on the beach, leaving trash.

Thanks for the responses. (The waitress service on the beach was wishful thinking from a trip to Aruba...it's not really a true necessity.) I've done a little more research and it looks like the Kea Lani is really great! Is the location (proximity to restaurants and shopping) good as well?
