Looking for a little help

Good morning everyone, first time user here. I hope someone can explain or help me with an issue I’m having with Mytrip .com. First let me say I am a 67 year old male whose brain doesn’t function like it used to lol. When booking my trip I put the wrong date on my return flight. I put November 18 but I wanted December 18. I don’t know what I was thinking. So it was my mistake. But in my defense I bought the flex ticket for 180 dollars and the insurance for another 75. I just noticed the mistake the other day for my trip in October. My plan was 2 months in Thailand traveling around every week. But now Mytrip is telling me it’s another 532 dollars to change the date. I also called the airlines that I will be flying with and they told the price is the same for the December flight. Can someone explain the cost to me please? Everything Mytrip is saying makes no sense. Here is the definition of flex ticket from google.

A Flexible (rebookable) Ticket allows you to change your flight tickets no matter what the airline's rules are. If the price of the new ticket is higher you only pay the difference. Note that all rebookings are subject to available seats and can only be made with the same airline as your original trip.

I am not familiar with Mytrip.com but see there have been many complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau. I am sorry not to have any good suggestions but hope someone else here may be able to help.

My suggestion for what it's worth: Book a one way flight directly with the airline for December 18. You MIGHT get a refund from the insurance if you tell them you were sick and could not fly on November 18. I never seem to have a problem with Expedia or Priceline.

I will think about that and thank you

Welcome to Fodor's travel forums. I also have never heard of mytrip dot com. I always book directly with the airline I am flying.

Have you tried to contact this company via 'chat' or email or if there is a phone number you can find? Any chance of talking this through with a Customer Service agent?

buena suerte/good luck!
