Looking for a great spa while husband at conference
We are going to be in Vegas for a week and part of that time my husband will be at a conference and I would like to spend one of those days at a nice spa. Not looking for anything too expensive but somewhere I could get a couple of treatments and then hang out for the day using some of their ammenities. Any ideas? Any other ideas of how to keep busy for part of the time besides eating and gambling.

I have to agree with travelisfun that the spa at Mandalay is fabulous! I've been to the spas at TI, Luxor, and the Venetian- and Mandalay beats them all.
You can find a menu of services on the Mandalay website.
The spa has many amenities including: a couple of lounging areas (a "quiet room" among one of those), steam room, dry sauna, 3 jacuzzi tubs with different water temps, a cold plunge, light snacks (fruit, muffins, pretzels), a variety of drinks, a vanity room stocked with Paul Mitchell goods, and lots of magazines and newspapers to read while lounging. It was so relaxing that I actually took a nap on one the lounge chairs. Tip: make sure you leave time before and after your treatment to enjoy these amenities- I could easily spend 3 hours in this place.

Thanks so much for the suggestions. We are staying at Caesars Palace but I could make my way to Mandalay Bay. What treatments have you had and what do you recommend. I am hoping to spend a few hours at the spa since my husband will be busy most of the day. Are the muffins fruit etc free or is there a charge. My daughter and I went to a spa in Scottsdale and the only thing free was water everything else there was quite a high charge for. What kind of tip do you leave?

Caesar's has a nice spa, although it is a bit pricey. We'll be there in May, and hubby and I are already planning to check it out!
We tried the one at Monte Carlo when we stayed there last time, and it was nice. Hubby liked his massage.

Carley---
I have had the Swedish massage (nice to get the knots out of your body!), aromatherapy massage (not worth the extra $$ to me, it was just a Swedish with scented oils), and the mini-facial (I hardly get facials, so this was a treat even though it was quick). My friend, who has more cash to burn, has had the rose petal wrap and the green tea body treatment. Although both were great, she liked the rose petal wrap better. My other friend has had the herbal wrap and the rose petal wrap, and liked the rose one better...
The snacks, drinks, and other amenities are free of charge--well they are included in the price of a treatment (min $50 treatment I think, but most of them are over $50) so it turns out to be a good deal if you spend some time there. Generally I tip 20%, more if the service was really good. I've never been to the spa at Caesar's, but I've made the trek from the Venetian to Mandalay just for their spa! It's a beautiful property to walk around as well. Have fun!

Thanks dlgirl for all your information. I think I will definitely try the Mandalay Bay spa. My daughter just reminded me of how we went to the Camelback Spa and spent the day there having a wonderful time. They had their own pool so that made it nice. Looking forward to it.
