Looking for a great place to stay & dine between Nashville & Richmond

My husband and I will be traveling to Nashville this fall and are looking for a great place to stay and dine for one night to break up the trip home. Our original plan was Primland, but they are booked for the night we want

We love good food, wine and accommodations. Cost isn't a significant factor.

Thanks all!

How about something between Bristol TN and Abingdon, VA?
On the way home you would have the time to drive a section of the Blue Ridge Parkway from Fancy Gap and Buena Vista.

That would work....any suggestions? I have checked out The Martha Inn in Abingdon and it's a possibility but gets mixed reviews.

Abingdon is about half way and Martha Inn is outstanding. Go to House on Main for fine dining.

Lexington, VA is a great town. Stay at Sheridan Livery Inn and dine there.

Sheridan Livery Inn & Restaurant @ 35 North Main St., Lexington, VA 540 - 464 - 1887.

The Greenbrier is not too far out of your way. Wow. Great place.

Love love LOVED Local Chop House in Harrisonburg, Va. Stayed at Stonewall Jackson Inn not far from there, but I've just read that the Inn was badly damaged in a recent storm.

Since The Greenbrier was sold, Dh is boycotting it (something to do with the owner and strip mining...honestly I haven't paid much attention to his tangent...lol).

Lexington is an idea....we would go there a lot when our daughter was horse showing, but that's a different experience than staying there just the two of us.

The House on Main in Abingdon looks like a good possibility also.

Thanks all! I'll let you know what happens.

It's been years since I stayed there but loved the Martha Washington.

Wintergreen is not too far out of the way. Spend a few hours on the BRP.
