Looking for a fun restaurant with great food in NYC for a family girl's weekend
Will be going to NYC next weekend with my mother and 3 sisters - we range in age from 33 to 70. We are staying at the Grand Hyatt - Park Avenue at Grand Central. Need restaurant suggestions for places that are fun with great food. We like Italian and Seafood. Any suggestions near our hotel or we can take a cab. Thanks in advance.

Besides the fact that it's in Harlem, and nowhere near walking distance from their hotel, what on earth does Dinosaur BBQ have to offer someone who wants Seafood or Italian? I love Dino BBQ, but come on...
Janiekins - it would help if you could give us a price range (per person, incl tax and tip). There are SO many good places that fit your criteria.

Well I don;t think you can do seafood for that. Docks or anything similar would be more - seafood is expensive in NYC. You should probably focus on Italian to find something. I don;t know anything in that area in your price range.
If you're willing to go to the west side Becco has a triple pasta special with salad or antipasto for $22.00 - and some of the entrees would be within yor price range - assuming you mean one drink or glass of wine each.

Sorry - if by fun you mean loud and busy you could also try Carmone's - but their prices are higher. But the portions are so enormous you can easily share - so if you're willing to do so - that's another option.
I would suggest you look at menupages.com to see the actual menus of each.

Inside Grand Central Station, which is right behind/under your hotel, is the restaurant Metrazur. They have a prix fixe dinner (although entree options are limited to chicken, fish or pasta) for $35 that includes appetizer and dessert.

If you don't want 3 courses, most of the entrees will fit your budget and it's a neat spot to sit and watch the people pass by.
Artisinal is a lovely french brasserie near the Empire State building. They also have a prix fixe dinner special for $35 or entrees that will fit the budtget.

La Mangeoire and La Mediterranee are very nice French places not far with good prix fixe dinners.
Near your hotel, some Italian restaurants that will work:
Fagliolini--mostly pasta, good, inexpensive
Salute--a bit nicer and can get expensive depending on what you order, but very nice pasta options and also good thin crust pizza.
Perhaps the best option would be Cibo on 2nd ave. They have a $30 prix fixe.

Otto at 1 Fifth Ave. (in the village) is a fun pizza place in a lovely location/building.

La Lanterna, also in the village has jazz.
